Ἡ Ανάστασις τοῦ Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ) — главное богослужебное событие церковного календаря, древнейший и самый важный христианский праздник, который установлен в честь Воскресения Иисуса Христа — центра всей библейской истории и фундамента всего христианского учения. В православии статус Пасхи как главного праздника отражают слова «праздников праздник и торжество из торжеств». В настоящее время дата Пасхи в каждый конкретный год исчисляется по лунно-солнечному календарю, что делает Пасху переходящим праздником. Название праздника в русском и многих других языках происходит от еврейского слова Пе́сах, которое обозначает иудейскую Пасху и связано со словом пасах — «миновал» (иногда само название праздника толкуют как «минул, обошёл»). Арамейское название праздника звучит как писха, и существует мнение, что именно через арамейский язык слово «Пасха» вошло в греческий[прим. Ветхозаветная Пасха совершалась в память исхода еврейского народа из египетского плена. У христиан название праздника приобрело иное толкование — «прехождение от смерти к жизни, от земли к небу» Всех с праздником!
